JRF event “Electromobility” on 10.10.2018
10.10.2018 – Save the Date: JRF event “Electromobility
On October 10, 2018, a free and public JRF event on the topic of “Electromobility” will take place in Düsseldorf with the participation of the NRW Minister of Economics, Innovation, Digitization and Energy, Prof. Dr. Andreas Pinkwart, and the Director of the Research Institute for Rationalization (FIR) at RWTH Aachen University and CEO of e.GO Mobile AG, Prof. Dr. Günther Schuh.
At the event, leading scientists from the five JRF institutes FIR, ZBT, WI, ILS and DST will give keynote lectures on the topic of “electromobility” from different professional perspectives.
Could traffic be decarbonised by 2030 or 2050? In addition to new digital technologies, an answer can provide a radically changed mobility behavior. Electric mobility is one of the central building blocks for the transformation to a resource-saving, post-fossil mobility and at the same time promotes the intelligent networking of transport, energy and IT systems into an integrative overall system. Such a change of course would pose a major challenge not only for politics at national, state and city level, but also for today’s automobile manufacturers and mobility providers. Electrification is already being prepared not only for car traffic, but also for buses, trucks, trains, ships and even aircraft. But: A traffic turn solely on the basis of battery electric systems does not seem possible at present. Is the hydrogen fuel cell a way out?
The logistics of the future with tomorrow’s key technologies are already being designed and tested today using the example of the e.GO electric vehicle on the RWTH Aachen Campus. The Director of the JRF Institute FIR – Research Institute for Rationalization at RWTH Aachen University and CEO of e.GO Mobile AG, Prof. Dr. Günther Schuh, will give a special insight into the world of electric mobility.
