Research Project MariShallow started
The overall target is to develop a Decision-Support-System (DSS) for sea-going vessels. The DSS offers opportunities to reduce the fuel consumption based on situationally optimised strategies compromising e. g. the choice of the vessel’s velocity, its trim and ballast at sea, in coastal waters and on rivers. This way the project improves the vessel’s energy efficiency and contributes to the reduction of emissions. Focussing on the vessel’s hydrodynamics, the influence of waves in water waves is investigated at DST.
